After a degree in Physiology and Zoology from Sheffield University (1986) followed by travelling and varied work, Barbara discovered Osteopathy. She took her degree at the British School of Osteopathy in London and graduated in 1999 (now the University College of Osteopaths). She started working at the Chandos Clinic 2 years later in the Childrens Clinic and became an associate at the clinic in 2002 after her second child was born. Barbara has a deep love of all aspects of Osteopathy and treating a wide range of patients from the newborn to the elderly and all those in between.

Barbara’s extensive post graduate training includes gaining a Fellowship of the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy (SCCO) – which is an extended training in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field, and a certificate in Paediatric Osteopathy (SCCO). She has also completed the 8 phases of Traditional Osteopathic Training in Biodynamic Osteopathy following the work of Dr James Jealous.

Since 2012 Barbara has been a tutor with the SCCO teaching Post Graduate Osteopaths in the UK and Germany including parts of the paediatric programme. Barbara has been a trustee of the SCCO since 2018. She is also an occasional tutor with the Biobasics team of the UK who introduce new graduates to Traditional Osteopathic Studies.

Barbara lives with her family in Bristol. She has studied Ki Aikido to a high level and is a regular practioner of Qi Gong. She thrives when out in nature and enjoys working on her allotment, walking in the woods, mountains and by the sea and singing in local choirs.
